Here at Open Book Chocolates, we don’t just love books. We love movies and series too! Especially adaptations of classic literature, as well as new stories inspired by classic novels and their authors. So we’ve compiled a list of our most anticipated brand-new and upcoming movies and series!

This year marks the 250th birthday of Jane Austen, so it’s no surprise there are so many Austen-related titles on this list.

  1. Sherlock & Daughter (2025): Starring David Thewlis and Blu Hunt.

  2. Jane Austen Wrecked My Life (2025): Starring Camille Rutherford.

  3. Miss Austen (2025): Starring Keeley Hawes.

  4. Animal Farm (2025): Directed by Andy Serkis; starring Isla Fisher, Keith David, Seth Rogen, Gaten Matarazzo, Woody Harrelson, Steve Buscemi, Glenn Close, and Kieran Culkin.

  5. Frankenstein: (November 20205): Directed by Guillermo del Toro; starring Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, and Mia Goth.

  6. Wuthering Heights (February 2026): Directed by Emerald Fennell; starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi.

  7. The Odyssey (July 2026): Directed by Christopher Nolan; starring Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Robert Pattinson, and Charlize Theron.

  8. Pride and Prejudice (TBA): Starring Emma Corrin, Jack Lowden, and Olivia Colman.

  9. A Christmas Carol (TBA): Directed by Robert Eggers.

  10. Sense and Sensibility (TBA): Starring Daisy Edgar-Jones.

New Batch of Frankenstein in Progress!

🥳 We have some wonderful news here at Open Book Chocolates!

As I mentioned in our previous blog post (from October 10th), as we were preparing 2024 Kickstarter rewards, we discovered that we had already sold out of our Frankenstein chocolate bars (Frankenstein Sold Out! Online Store Now Open!). We were very surprised by this, since we made approximately 600 Frankenstein bars, thinking that would be more than enough to get us through the end of the year. But we’re absolutely thrilled that Frankenstein is such a hit with our customers!

We are excited to announce that we are able to make approximately 300 more Frankenstein bars this year!

The new batch of Frankenstein bars should be ready late October or early November. We will be sure to announce when the bars are ready here on our blog! 📖🍫😊

In the meantime, our online store is OPEN!

Currently, we are sold out of The Great Gatsby, but expect it will be back in stock by the end of October. Also, we are very low on Sherlock Holmes and Jolabokaflod (Yule Book Flood), so order them before we sell out!
